    Patrick Clerens studied law at the University of Saarbrücken and the University of Mainz. Since 1996, he has worked as a consultant for a private company specialising in European Affairs in Brussels. In his capacity as Brussels Representative of different European associations, he has been involved in the climate and energy field since 2003

    He has managed the European Association for Storage of Energy (EASE) office in Brussels as Secretary General since its establishment in September 2011. Since then, EASE has grown from the initial 13 founding members to almost 40.

  • Michele Pissarello

    Michele Pissarello is responsible for the Energy Storage Business Development within Enel Global Thermal Generation. The unit is dedicated to the development of utility-scale energy storage solutions for stand-alone and hybrid (Storage + Thermal Generation) applications. Michele has 8 years of experience in the energy storage sector and currently chairs EASE’s Working Group 2 (Applications & Economics) within the Technology & Value Assessment Committee. Prior to joining Enel he worked at Toshiba, developing Smart Grid applications in EMEA, and Tesla, managing C&I sales in South EU. Michele holds an MBA from Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Business (MIP).

    After spending some years in the area of sales and project management for some companies such as Parke-Davis, Capsugel, Wilkinson Sword, Warner Lambert, Tetra, and others, he has been a leading figure in the energy sector since 2000, first as External Affairs Director in the Italian Division of BP then as MD for BP Solar Italy. President of Assosolare (Italian PV Industry Association) for three consecutive terms. He has negotiated the five Feed-in Tariffs arrangements with the Government which have caused the PV installed capacity to grow from 0,035 GW to more than 18 GW. He has also chaired the group of solar energy enterprises in the Industry National Committee of the Ministry of the Environment and has been one of the founders of the Global Network of National PV Associations (NNPVA) in 2007, and in 2015 of Global Solar Council, the unique global association representing the solar PV industry.

    Educational Background - Degree in Mechanical & Management Engineering; masters at: Middlesex University (London); Kellogg School of Management (Chicago); SDA Bocconi Milano (Milan); Istituto de Empresa (Madrid).

  • Terji Nielsen

    Terji Nielsen is Head of R&D at SEV, the Faroese Power Company, with main focus on the company’s vision of a 100% renewable electricity sector by 2030 in the Faroe Islands.
    Main interest is integrating renewable energy in islanded hybrid power systems, resource assessment and techno- economic analysis of realistic roadmaps in hybrid power systems.
    He holds an engineering degree from Denmark (Aarhus University School of Engineering) and an MBA from Germany (BEUTH University of Applied Sciences), and have more than 20 years of experience from his various positions in the Power Company SEV.

    Mr. Zisimos Mantas is a Dipl. Mechanical Engineer, MSc, graduated from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and holds an MBA title with distinction from the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). He has extensive experience in Renewable Energy Sources (RES), operating for the last 17 years in the wind energy sector. He has been involved in several European research projects while in the Fluids Section of the Mechanical Engineering School of NTUA, but also providing valued consulting in the development of wind projects in Greece, BIOSAR Energy SA. His experience gained in the field of operating wind farms with ENERCON wind turbines has proved also important in his next step of managing sales activities for ENERCON in Greece. After holding the position of Sales Manager for five years, he was promoted to Senior Sales Manager for ENERCON in the markets of Greece and Cyprus, while having a record of approximately 120 MW of executed sales contracts and almost equal installed capacity. He is now active as a Chief Business Development Officer in the EUNICE Energy Group (EEG), largely contributed in the development and operation the first Hybrid Power Station with battery storage in Greece, but also focusing on further development of wind and hybrid projects in Greece and abroad.
